In the probate court of Elk Co. Kansas
In the matter of the estate of James Alexander, dec'd. Frank Alexander on his oath says that James Alexander died in Elk Co Kansas on
Oct 28th 1912.

That at the time of his death, he was a resident of said county.  That the only heirs of said James Alexander are Lillie May Thompson formerly
Alexander, a daughter And a son Frank Alexander this affiant.

Petition For Letters of Administration.
STATE OF KANSAS, County of Elk, SS:
TO THE PROBATE COURT OF SAID COUNTY AND STATE:

Now , on this 26th day of April 1913, comes Frank Alexander you petitioner alleges: That on and prior to the 23rd day of October 1912 one James Alexander was an inhabitant of the State of Kansas.

That on the said 23rd day of October 1912 the said James Alexander died at the County of Elk in the State of Kansas  That at the time of his death the said James Alexander was an inhabitant and resident of the County of Elk in the State of Kansas.

That the personal estate of the said James Alexander deceased is of the value of Eight Hundred dollars.
That the names, ages, places of residence and the degree of relationship of the next of kin of the said James Alexander deceased are as follows:
Lillie May Thompson of Howard Kans, his daughter, age 44 yrs Frank Alexander of Piedmont Kans, his son, age 34 yrs

That your petitioner is informed and believes that the said James Alexander died having made a will.
Wherefore your petitioner prays that letters of administration be granted to Frank Alexander upon the estate of the said James Alexander.
