Obituary of MORELAND McCLURE McADAM |
Moreland McClure McAdam, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Sam McAdam, was born near Kincaid August 20, 1886, and resided there
until nine years old when the family moved to Kincaid. He resided there
until 1908, when he came to Mildred where he has since resided. He was
united in marriage to Miss Jessie McGinniss in 1909, and to this union
four children were born, two boys and a girl preceded their father to the
heavenly home. He was a man who loved his home and family. He was honest and trustworthy and a friend to all who knew him. He was patient and made a hard fight to conquer the disease that was slowly taking his life, but his efforts and those of his loved ones were in vain and the gates of immortality swung open and he entered "The Haven of Rest". He leaves to mourn for him his wife, his daughter Dorothy, his parents; four sisters, Mrs. Georgia Whitebread, of Nebraska, Mrs. Mabel Gibbs of Topeka, Mrs. Belle Norton, of Helena, Arkansas, Mrs. Vena LaMunyon, of Iola, and two brothers, Tom, of Tallent, Oklahoma, and John of Bayard; also a large number of other relatives and friends. The funeral services were conducted at the M.E. church Friday morning by Rev. J.C. Lane. A large crowd attended and the floral offerings were many and beautiful, showing the esteem in which he was held. He was laid to rest in the silent city of the dead at Fairview. The heart-broken relatives have the sympathy of all. May they find comfort in Him who said, "I am the Resurrection and the Life". |
