Edward S. Chenoweth

EDWARD S. CHENOWETH was born in Warren County, Indiana, September 7, 1852. He moved with his parents to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, in February, 1870, and became a student of the Iowa Wesleyan University, and in 1878 moved to Adair County, Iowa, residing there until January, 1887, when he moved to Rush County, Kansas. Mr. Chenoweth has been active in community work in the respective neighborhoods that he has lived in, and the principal part of his life work has been "banking and ranching," having been successful in both lines.

Preferment and recognition have been complimentary to him. He was a delegate to the General Conference of the Methodist Church in 1896 at Cleveland, Ohio. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Salina Wesleyan University for six years, is identified with several banks, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Kansas Casualty and Surety Company, of Wichita, Kansas. He is a thirty-second degree Mason and a member of the Mystic Shrine. Mr. Chenoweth was married to Miss Maggie A. Knox, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, March 19, 1878, and says it was the best deal he ever made.
