--The wife of Andy Hampton died at Galena on Friday, of consumption, after being ill six months, age twenty years. Andy was formerly an ore smelter in Joplin, but is now smelting at Galena. He married four years ago, when his wife was only sixteen years of age, and now he is a widower with a motherless child.

*Notes;

Apparently, Mrs Hampton was a victim of tuberculosis, a disease often spread from breathing rock dust on miners clothesby their families.

We believe Lillie's maiden name was Armstrong. She was born about 1856

Lillie/Lily Armstrong & Andrew/Andy W. Hampton married

The child she left behind was Clara Mae Hampton
