Hope (Loewenstein) Schmidt

Hope (Loewenstein) Schmidt, 32, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2006 from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

Hope was born to Robert and Judy Shelite Loewenstein on August 8, 1973 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. She attended the South Barber schools through the eighth grade and then she attended Burlington High School where she graduated with the class of 1992. On April 28, 2001 she and Michael Schmidt were united in marriage at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alva, Oklahoma. She coached softball and soccer and was a devoted mother, wife, daughter and sister. She was a member of the St. John The Apostle Catholic Church of Kiowa, Kansas.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; three children Montana McCullough, Taylor McCullough, Chase Schmidt; her parents Robert and Judy Loewenstein; sisters Stacy Talbott and husband, Tuff of Kiowa, Christina Kaumans and husband, Jason of Kiowa; brothers Richard "Richie" Loewenstein of Kiowa, Matthew Loewenstein of Kiowa; grandmother, Annabell Shelite of Kiowa; father and mother-in-law, Doug and Betty Schmidt of Sharon, grandfather and grandmother-in-law, Raymond and Eileen Schmidt of Sharon, Kansas, two brother-in-laws, Craig Schmidt and wife, Shelon, Matthew Schmidt; nephews, Reno and Jordan Talbott, Brayden and Drake Schmidt and Kevin Kaumans; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, May 18, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sharon with Father John Strasser officiating. Burial followed at Kiowa in the Riverview Cemetery. Arrangements were by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lanmanfuneralhomes.com.

Memorials may be made to the children’s scholarship fund through the funeral home.
