David W. Worsdell, Sr.

David W. Worsdell, Sr., 1920 Main, Kiowa, Ks., was born October 29, 1907 in Aurora, Illinois. He died May 10, 1998, at Friendship Manor Nursing Home, Kiowa, Ks. He was 90 years, 6 months and 12 days old. His father was Ralph Clark Worsdell and his mother was Ruthella McReynolds.

He married Gertrude Fisher on January 19, 1937. She died in 1962. He later married Christine M. Post on December 7, 1968. She died March 11, 1994.

Mr. Worsdell was a minister. He has lived in Kiowa since January 1997. Prior to that he resided in Anthony, Ks., and Valley Center, Ks. He spent most of his life in St. Louis, Mo. He was a member of Dover Place Christian Church, St. Louis, Mo., Algabil Freedom Lodge #636, Sir Knight-Ascalon Commandery #16, Kt. Jeremiah Council #43 Cryptic Masons, Oriental Chapter #78, Ram (Royal Arch Mason).

Survivors include: sons, David W. Worsdell, Jr., Kiowa, Ks.; Clayton Marshall Worsdell, Phoenix, Az.; step-daughter, Ella Mae Brunt, Kimberling City, Mo.; 5 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, May 13 at the United Methodist Church, Kiowa, Ks., with Rev. Bill Dyar officiating. Interment was held at Saint Louis, Mo.

Memorials may be made to the Kiowa District Hospital Memorial Fund and the Kiowa United Methodist Church.

Fisher Funeral Home, Inc., Kiowa, Ks., was in charge of arrangements.
