Clyde E. Turner, 68, of 228 Smith, died at 12:20 p.m. Thursday at Bartholomew County Hospital. A retired farmer, he had been in failing health three years and seriously ill three months.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Reed and Jewell Funeral home by the Rev. James Rea. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery.
Persons may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Turner was born Oct. 24, 1908, in Glasgow, Ky., to Jim and Lizzie Ballard Turner. He married the former Edna Calhoun Oct 10, 1925, and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Clyde Turner Jr. of 3135 McKinley, and Charles Robert Turner of 151 South Beatty; a daughter, Doris Hallman of Indianapolls; a sister, Velma Wilborn of Glasgow, Ky.; a half-sister, Mary Louise Parker of 2203 Newton; two half-brothers, James Turner of Edinburgh, and George Turner of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jenna; a son, James Cosby Turner; five brothers and one sister.
