DEATH OF DR. WESLEY SHORT.
Dr. Wesley Short, brother of Hon. Luther Short, whose illness was mentioned in last week’s issue, died Friday at his home near Bedford. He was sixty-six years of age and had long been a prominent physician. He was a surgeon in the civil war and after its close had continuously resided in Lawrence County, practicing his profession with much success. Death was due to heart disease from which he had been a sufferer many years.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Springville, conducted by Elder Quincy Short of the Christian church.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Certificate and Record of Death, Springville, Lawrence County, Health Officer’s Record Number 67, page 326 records that Wesley Short died at about 7 o’clock a.m. on 23 Mar 1900 in Springville, Indiana from chronic nephritis and organic heart disease duration several years, aged sixty-six years, eleven months and seven days. He was male, white, married and a physician, born in Pulaski County, Kentucky. His father’s name was Milton Short and his mother’s maiden name Mary Tate, both born in Virginia. The informant was O. H. Emery. He was buried in Springville, Indiana on 24 Mar 1900, Hodge Day & Co., undertaker
