Suicide.
Arizona Sandifur [sic], son of Sylvester Sandifur [sic], committed suicide last Saturday morning by hanging himself. For several days he had acted somewhat strangely and seemed to be troubled in mind, yet without any apparent cause.
Saturday morning he left the house after breakfast and was missed soon by his wife, who went to the stable to look for him. She was horrified to find her husband hanging in one of the stalls. He had tied a halter strap to one of the rafters, first running the strap through the buckle, which formed a free loop. This was placed around his neck and the weight of his body when suspended tightened the loop and strangled him to death. Mrs. Sandifur hurriedly untied the strap but too late to save the life of her husband.
Funeral services were held Monday.
