The body of Anna Sandefur, the unfortunate who died several days ago in a resort, has been lying at Tutewiler’s morgue for several days and was claimed by her husband, a junk dealer of Shelbyville, and removed to that town. She formerly worked in a restaurant in Shelbyville and left there in company of another woman who entered the resort at the same time. The remains of Mrs. Sandefur were taken to the home of her parents near the Second Mt. Pleasant church in Johnson County, where interment took place yesterday. Her age was 23 [sic] years and her maiden name was Arwin. [sic] —Journal.

Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, page 50, records that Anna Sandefier [sic] died on 27 Mar 1900, aged 36 years, at 132 S Missouri Street from acute lobar pneumonia of unknown duration, contributory cause morphine habit. She was female, white and married, born in Indiana. Her father’s name was Orbin [sic] and her mother’s maiden name unknown. Her husband, Amos Sandefier [sic] was the informant. Burial in Shelbyville [sic], H. W. Tertewiler, undertaker.
