Clarence Shake and his sisters, Hattie Watson and Kate Musselman, attended the funeral of their sister Effie Prather’s child in Columbus last week.

Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Columbus, Columbus, Bartholomew County, Certificate and Record of Death, Health Officer’s Record Number 110, page 282 records that Raymond Prather died at about 8 o’clock p. m. on 11 Jul 1900 in Columbus from meningitis, contributory cause injury to head two months earlier, aged three years. He was male, white and single, born in Columbus, Indiana. His father’s name was Will Prather, and his mother’s maiden name not recorded, neither parents’s birthplace recorded. Will Prather was the informant. Raymond was buried in Garden Brook on 12 Jul 1900, J. D. Emmons, undertaker.
