Margery Porter died April 14 at the home of her niece, Miss Amanda Parish, in Indianapolis. She was born December 9, 1812 in Muskingum county, Ohio, and came to this state in 1860. For several years she lived with the family of V. B. Williams, and in 1872 went to the home of Wm. Clark, where she continued to live until 1887. She then moved to Indianapolis where she continued to reside with her niece, Miss Parish, until her death. The immediate cause of her death was injuries received from a fall last winter. Funeral services were held April 16. Burial at Crown Hill.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Indianapolis, Marion County, Certificate and Record of Death, page 12 records that Marjie [sic] Porter died at 825 Georgia Street, of old age on 14 Apr 1900 at about 9 o’clock. She was eighty-seven-years-old, female, white and single, born in Ohio. Her parents’ names and places of birth were unknown. She was buried 17 Apr 1900 in Crown Hill, undertaker Chas. T. Whitsett.
