Charles A. Parkinson

Charles A. Parkinson, 47, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, in Waldron. He was a resident of Indianapolis.

He was born May 3, 1954, in Shelbyville. His father was Robert M. Parkinson. His mother is Lois (Kirk) Parkinson of Shelbyville. He married Charlotte E. (Collier) Parkinson on June 10, 1989. She survives. Other survivors include a son, James Robert Parkinson of Indianapolis; a daughter, Margaret Lois Parkinson of Indianapolis; and a sister, Cheryl Kern of Indianapolis.

He graduated from Waldron High School in 1972 and received a ba­chelor’s degree in chemistry from Ball State University in 1976. He also attended Methodist Hospital School of Technology for one year.

He was employed for four years by Covance as a computer validation au­ditor. He previously worked for Central Indiana Regional Blood Center for five years as a laboratory manager and for Methodist Hospital for 12 years as a charge technologist.

He was a member of American Chemical Society and American Society of Clinical Pathologists.

The Rev. Robert F. Carter will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township.
