Edward [sic Edmund] Mooney, of the tannery firm of W. W. Mooney & Sons, of Columbus, was thrown from his carriage in that city Sunday afternoon and injured so badly that he died about midnight following. Mr. Mooney was well known in Franklin. He was cousin of Miss Mary Blohm, of this city.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Columbus, Columbus Township, Bartholomew County, Certificate and Record of Death, Health Officer’s Record Number 108, page 250 records that Edumund Mooney died at about 11 o’clock p. m. on 8 Jul 1900 in Columbus, Indiana from internal hemorrhage, contributory cause a fractured hip, which occurred when he was thrown from his buggy at about 7 p. m., aged fifty years, eight months and fourteen days. He was male, white, and a proprietor of a tannery, born in Edinburg, Johnson County, Indiana. His father’s name was Wm. M. Mooney, born in Wordford County, Kentucky, and his mother’s maiden name Eliza Jane Berryman, born in Highland County Ohio. The informant was William W. Mooney. Edmund was buried in Columbus, Indiana on 11 Jul 1900, Davidson & Henderson, undertaker.
