Judge John D. Miller died Friday morning after a long illness, at his home in Greensburg. He was a brother of R. M. and E. C. Miller, of this city and lived in Franklin while studying law in the office of Overstreet & Hunter. After being admitted to the bar he began the practice of law in Greensburg, where he continued to reside. At the time of his death he was judge of the circuit embracing Decatur and Rush counties. On the death of Judge Berkshire, of the supreme bench, in 1891, Governor Hovey appointed Judge Miller to fill the unexpired term. Funeral services were held at Greensburg Monday morning. Those from this city attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Donnell, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Miller, Rev. L. P. Marshall, H. C. Barnett and Miss Bertha Miller.
