Former Town Employee Alfred T. Gross Alfred T. “Tag” Gross, 63, of North Kyle Street, died August 3, 1988 at Bartholomew County Hospital. Born September 12, 1924, in Indianapolis, Gross was the son of Herman T. and Florence Margaret Gross. He married Betty Jean Whittington on October 14, 1948. She died in 1982. He was a 20-year employee of Union Starch and had been a sexton at the Rest Haven Cemetery for eight years. He was a rural paper carrier for the Republic from 1981 to 1984. A Navy veteran of World War II, Gross was a member of Blue River Gospel Tabernacle. Funeral services was conducted August 6 with burial at Rest Haven Cemetery. Surviving are daughters, Sheila Jean Conner and Sharon Louise Botts, both of Edinburgh and Margaret Sue Gross of Columbus; sons Eddie L. and Earl Ray Gross of Whiteland; half brothers, Alfred Dale Gross and Charles Gross of Edinburgh; a half sister, Linda Gross of Columbus; and 16 grandchildrenSubmitted by SUBMITTER
