Robert D. Goodman, 71, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Indianapolis.
He was born Oct. 18, 1931, in Shelbyville. His parents were Roy and Marcia (Brown) Goodman. He married Pattie L. Wall on Oct. 15, 1952, in Indianapolis. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Mark Goodman and Mike A. Goodman, both of Indianapolis; a daughter, Susan Alexander of Shelbyville; a sister, Lillie Jean Lynch of Tennessee; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
He was employed for 33 years by Naval Avionics as a machine-parts inspector, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Indianapolis and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 766, Shelbyville; Veterans of Foreign War Greenwood Post 5864; American Legion Post 70, Shelbyville.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War.
A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, State Road 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in White River Township.
