Gaskins, 24, 301 North Walnut in Edinburg, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Marcus Dodril at Eskin Funeral Home in Edinburg. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. Persons may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday. Gaskins drowned Tuesday evening at Sweetwater Lake. He was an employee of Cummins Engine Co. Survivors include his parents, Claude E. and Jeanette Norman Gaskins of 301 North Walnut; three brothers, Phillip and Stephen Gaskins of Edinburg and Allen Gaskins at home, and three sisters, Brenda Gaskins of Franklin and Debra and Sheryl Gaskins at home. Gaskins was a 1970 graduate of Edinburg High School and a 1971 graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis. Edinburgh Tri-County Enterprise 7 Jul 1977 Larry Gaskins Drowns at Sweetwater Larry Gaskins, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gaskins, 301 north Walnut street, was drowned on Sweetwater Lake in Brown County Tuesday night. It is not known exactly how the accident occurred but divers from the Franklin Fire Department headed by Tim Coble recovered the body around 9:15 Wednesday morning. Gaskins, employee at Cummins Engine Company, was on a sailboat with two other men and it was reported that when the boat got into the swimming area of the lake, Gaskins was not on the boat and apparently had fallen into the water. The accident occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. It is thought he could not swim. Funeral arrangements are pending at Eskin Funeral Home in Edinburg. The Franklin dive team searched from 9:15 to 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night and Wednesday morning returned to the scene discovering the body at 9:15 a.m. Gaskins is survived by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
