Dies Thursday

Rites To Be Held
At Edinburg Church

SHELBYVILLE, June 10.—Death came to Samuel M. Dunham a for­mer Johnson County resident, in the Major Hospital at 7:45 o’clock Thursday morning. He had been suffering from a heart condition and had been ill one week.

Funeral services are to be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Edinburg Methodist church with the Rev. Ray Bozell, pastor of the Old Union Christian, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery at Edinburg.

Calling hours have been set for any time after noon Friday in the Murphy Funeral Home and friends are invited to attend the rites.

Mr. Dunham was the son of Simon and Ella McCarty Dunham and was born in Brown County, Aug. 23, 1901.

He was married to Dorothy Long at Taylorsville on Dec. 20, 1922, and was the father of 11 children.

Resident Of Shelby County

A former resident of Taylorsville he had resided in Shelby County for the past eight years and was employed by the Western Electric Company at Indianapolis.

Surviving with the widow are the children, Mrs. Roy Doan, of Taylor­sville; Vernon Dunham, of Green­wood; Gene Dunham, of Morris­town; Mrs. Clyde Purcell, of Camp Rucker, Ga.; William Dunham, of Indian­apolis; Mrs. Donald Shouse, of Shelby­ville; Carolyn, Donald, Glenda Gale, Rosaletia and Linda, all at home.

Others remaining are eight grand­children, and a brother, Tracy Dunham, of Edinburg.

Mr. Dunham was a member of the Union Village Masonic lodge at Providence and the Taylorsville Red Men lodge.
