Willie A. Adams Sr.

Willie A. Adams Sr., 87, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at his daughter's
residence in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Indianapolis.

He was born Sept. 24, 1914, in Indianapolis. His parents were Harry A. and Agnes
(Fouty) Adams. He married Mavis M. (Stewart) Adams in February 1945 in Rockford,
Ill. She preceded him in death. Survivors include three daughters, Linda S.
Clark of Indianapolis, Connie L. Barger of Greenwood and Mary M. Bowling of
Kathleen, Ga.; a son, Willie A. ÒBillÓ Adams Jr. of Greenwood; 15 grandchildren;
and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Wayne
Adams.

He was employed in the ground maintenance department at Wayne Township Schools
for 10 years, retiring in 1981. Previously, he was a truck driver for Indiana
Oxygen for 25 years, retiring in 1971.

He was a member of Teamsters Local 135.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, discharged in 1945.

A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue
Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
