JOHN ALLAN ZUFALL
CLARKS HILL — John Allan Zufall, 67, father of a Clarks Hill resident, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, in his Franklin residence, following a seven-year illness. He was born June 18, 1933, in Franklin, and attended Hopewell and Union elementary schools. He was a graduate of Franklin High School and attended Purdue University. On March 16, 1957, he was married to Elsie Elizabeth Murray in Williamstown, VT; she survives.
For 14 years, Mr. Zufall worked in research and development for P. R. Mallory of Indianapolis. He drove school bus No. 145 for Franklin Community School Corp. for 16 years until 1991. He worked 10 years at Paul Short’s Home Improvement until 1987, when he left and began John A. Zufall Insulation, which he operated until 1999.
Mr. Zufall was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He served three years, joining in 1953, and attained the rank of meritorious buck sergeant. He was a member of Trafalgar Christian Church, FFA, and National Rifle Association.
Surviving with his wife are a son, John Patrick Zufall of Franklin; and two daughters, Cheryl Parker of Clarks Hill and Linda Harris of Groveland, MA. Services are today in Franklin.
