OBITUARY.
Mrs. Lura A. Zook, wife of Marion Zook, Jr., was born January 16, 1872, and died Oct. 26, 1899, age 27 years, 9 months and 10 days. She was married to Marion Zook, son of Jas. O. Zook, about six years ago and to this union was added: Maude, April 17, 1894; Claude, July 16, 1896; and Gladys, Oct. 17, 1898. Mrs. Zook was a daughter of George Hensley, of Morgan County, and by the enterprise and industry of her parents she was raised to womanhood and was inured to business and toil. So when she became an owner of a home she was prepared to take hold of domestic affairs and to train her children in every respect to meet the grave responsibilities of a business life. The two young people began married life by taking hold of toil and labor and together were battling up the current successfully til the dear companion was called from labor to rest.
Mr. and Mrs. Zook came from their home in Franklin about two weeks ago to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. James O. Zook, and on the same day she was taken down with a violent attack of typhoid fever and the skillful medical aid with the attention of many loving connection and friends did not stop the ravages of disease, and after about two weeks of great suffering the dear companion and kind and loving mother passed away, the spirit taking its flight to Him who gave it. Mrs. Zook was buried in the cemetery at Old Union, in Morgan County, and was followed to her last resting place by a large procession of relatives and friends. She was buried near the homestead where she was born and raised, near the scenes of her juvenile years of innocent pleasure. Gone to the home unchangeable, where she is waiting for the reunion with the dear ones who are to follow.
