Ernest Zeppenfeld, age 70 years, died at four o’clock Wednesday morning at his home in West Franklin. He was born near Coblentz, Germany and came to America in 1859, locating in Franklin, where with his brother, August, he established a tannery. During his long residence here he established a reputation for industry and honesty and gained the respect and confidence of all. He leaves a wife and two children, Miss Jeannette Zeppenfeld, professor of modern languages in the College, and Louis Zeppenfeld, teller in the Franklin National Bank. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at two o’clock at his late residence, conducted by Rev. L. P. Marshall.
