Miss Myrtle Yelton, after a lingering illness from lung trouble, died Tuesday night at her home near Amity. Deceased was twenty-nine years old and a sister of the Democrat’s correspondent, C. A. Yelton, at Amity. Her father died a few months ago. She was a young lady of most excellent traits of character and the family and relatives have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 9 o’clock at the Baptist church in Amity, conducted by Rev. E. S. Gardiner. Burial at Second Mt. Pleasant.

SECOND MT. PLEASANT.
Miss Myrta [sic] Yelton, whose death and funeral services occurred at Amity was buried here by the side of her father, who died a short time ago. She was well known and much respected by her many friends.

Yelton died at about 3 o’clock p. m. on 3 Jul 1900 at her residence in Blue River Township, Johnson County, Indiana from phthisis pulmonalis of two years’ duration, aged twenty-nine years, seven months and zero days. She was female, white, single and a housekeeper, born in Indiana. Her father's name was Wm. Yelton, born in Kentucky, and her mother’s maiden name Mary Mozingo, born in Indiana. The informant was Chester Yelton. Myrtle was buried in Johnson County, Indiana on 5 Jul 1900, E. G. Barnhizer, undertaker.
