WOODSIDES, Lonnie
Date of death: 20 Apr 1888
Franklin Republican, May 4, 1888
OBITUARY.
––––
Died, April 20th, 1888, Lonnie Woodsides, son of James and Mary W. Woodsides, aged five years and six months. Little Lonnie had been a great sufferer for some time with spinal disease. About two months ago he took the whooping cough, then pneumonia, which resulted in his death. Words cannot describe his sufferings. Weep not dear parents, brothers and sisters, for Lonnie is forever at rest. He leaves his parents, two brothers and two sisters, while he has gone to join his two little sisters that were taken before him. Funeral services took place at the family residence on Friday evening, conducted by Rev. S. A. Bright, pastor of the Methodist church. On Saturday morning his remains were taken to Fairland and laid away to rest beside his two little sisters, Ona and Gracy.
There is a home for little children
Above the bright blue sky;
Where Jesus reigns in glory,
A home of peace and joy
No home on earth is like it,
Nor can with it compare;
For little Lonnie is happy,
Their darling is forever happy there.
