DUNKIRK – Mrs. Ruth N. (Mitchell) Wirey, 71, died Thursday at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, Ill. She had been in failing health for two years.

Mrs. Wirey, a resident of the Dunkirk-Eaton area for 30 years, moved to Elk Grove Village two years ago to reside with her son, Charles Mitchell. She was born in Franklin and operated a restaurant there. She was a member of North Niles Home Economics Club and attended Mill Grove United Methodist Church.

Besides her son, she is survived by two grandchildren. Funeral rites will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home in Eaton, with Rev. Earl McCall officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Franklin. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and prior to services Monday.
