Death of Mrs. James Williams.
Mrs. James Williams, of Clark Township, mention of whose serious illness was made last week, died at her home Saturday afternoon at the advanced age of eighty-one years. She was one of the pioneers of the county, a lady held in high esteem by all who knew her.
Mrs. Williams was born in Kentucky in 1816, and came to the county while quite young with her father, Benj. Wheeler. She was married to Mr. Williams in 1835, and she and her husband have lived here continuously since. A few months ago Mr. and Mrs. Williams celebrated their sixty-first wedding anniversary at which time many of their numerous friends gathered at their home. Deceased, together with her husband, were charter members of the Rocklane Christian church and had always remained a worker in that organization. The funeral took place from her late home Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the services which were largely attended, being conducted by Elder Ashley, of this city.
