BLUFF CREEK.
Corbin [sic Corvan] Wilhite, of this vicinity, a most worthy young man, who belonged to the regular army and stationed at Galveston, was killed by the tidal wave that recently destroyed that city. His family has the sympathy of the entire community.

RESOLUTIONS OF SYMPATHY.
In consideration of the fact that our brother, Corvan Wilhite, is among the missing as a result of the terrible calamity which recently befell the city of Galveston, Texas, by which many lives were lost and many homes made desolate, we, the members of the Bluff Creek Christian church and members of the Sunday school, do hereby tender this expression of sympathy to the bereaved family and attest the great loss sustained by our church and community through the death of one so highly esteemed for his sterling worth as a Christian young man.
Resolved. That this resolution be entered upon the minutes of the Sunday school and church record and that a copy by furnished the bereaved family.
