The remains of Mrs. Wilder, of Edinburg, were buried in the cemetery at this place, Tuesday. Funeral services were conducted by Elder Small at her late home in Edinburg.

Notes: The Johnson County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920, page 229, referencing Book H-25, page 32, records that Sarah Ann Wilder, a sixty-year-old white female, died 15 Apr 1894 in Edinburg.

In the 1860 US Federal Census for First Division, Madison County, Indiana, twenty-eight-year-old, Tennessee-born Larkin Wilder, his wife twenty-five-year-old, Kentucky-born wife Sarah Wilder, and their children, six-year-old, Indiana-born Matilda F. and ten-month-old, Kentucky-born William S., are living with Sarah’s father, fifty-nine-year-old Samuel S Tatum.

Larkin Wilder enlisted in Company A, Eleventh Kentucky Cavalry on 22 Sep 1862. He died 8 January 1863 while on leave at his residence per the Company Muster rolls.

Thirty-seven-year-old, Kentucky-born widow Sarah Wilder and her nine-year-old Kentucky-born son, William Wilder are recorded on the 1870 US Federal Census for Nineveh, Johnson County, Indiana. Sarah and William are living near Sarah’s daughter, seventeen-year-old Matilda [Wilder] Lane and her husband, nineteen-year-old Overton Lane.
