Death of A. D. Whitesides.
A. D. Whitesides, one of the oldest residents of Franklin, died Wednesday morning at six o’clock, in this city, after a prolonged illness. For many years he was in a shoe business but owing to failing health was compelled to retire a little over a year ago from this, since which time his health has continued to fail.
He served in a most acceptable way several terms as justice of the peace. In all the walks of life he proved himself a thoroughly conscientious and upright citizen. He was born in Oldham county, Ky., in 1828, but came to this county when a young man and by a long and honorable life had won the respect of all who knew him.
He leaves a wife and four children; Dr. Whitesides, of Paducah, Ky; Mrs. Chandler, and Mrs. Essex of Indianapolis, and a daughter in Tiffin, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held today at two o’clock p.m. at the Presbyterian church conducted by Rev. L. P. Marshall.
