DEATH OF JOHN WHITE
––––––––
Removal of a Familiar Figure at the
Court House
John White Sr. died at 1 o’clock Wednesday of acute double pneumonia. The news of his death was a surprise to his friends. He had been feeling poorly for about a week, but no one felt that he was so near death’s door. It was not till Tuesday night that the pneumonia developed. His face in the court room where he has been the accommodating Court and Jury bailiff for six years has won the praise of the Court and attorneys in his endeavor to supply their every need. He was fifty-six years old. He was born in Parsonstown, Tipperary County, Ireland, and came to this county with his parents at the age of eight years, locating at Edinburg. Here he learned the wagon making trade, and continued to reside in Edinburg until eight or ten years ago when he came to Franklin. He leaves two sons and one daughter, John P. and William T. White and Mrs. Roscoe Hays. A brother, Patrick White, is in charge of the Spencer House at Indianapolis.
The burial was at the Edinburg cemetery, Thursday afternoon.
