LOCAL AND PERSONAL

J. B. Whitaker an employee of the Sinker Davis Co., of Indianapolis was in Franklin Monday working on the smoke stack at McDaniel’s mill. In the afternoon he refused to work giving no particular reason. He left on the 5:15 train for Indianapolis that evening and about twenty minutes after his arrival in that city was found dead in one of the water closets of the Union Station. It was learned afterwards that he had bought poison at Donnell’s drug store also at S. B. Eccles’ Monday afternoon—arsenic at the former and rough on rats at the latter. It is not known positively that he took the poison, but is presumed so. He leaves a wife and four children.
