Death of A. J. Vaught.
A. J. Vaught, whose serious illness we noticed last week died at his home in this city, on Friday morning about four o’clock, aged forty-six years. Mr. Vaught was born in this county and was one of our best known and most influential citizens. His death resulted from injuries received some twenty years ago by his horse falling upon him, and which have troubled him more or less ever since. He was on the street on Monday previous to his death but was taken down on the evening of that day and although the best medical aid was given him he sank rapidly and passed away at the hour named. Deceased leaves a wife and three daughters to mourn the death of a loving husband and affectionate father.
The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Baptist church and was very largely attended. His remains were laid to rest in Greenlawn, our beautiful city of the dead, to await the great awakening morn, when loving ties now severed will be reunited never again to be broken.
