Tillus Vandivier, son of Wesley [John Wesley] Vandivier, age eighteen years, died Sunday at Indianapolis, after an illness of several weeks. The remains were brought to this place and funeral services held Tuesday morning at First Mt. Pleasant.

Notes: The 1880 US Federal Census for Pleasant, Johnson County, Indiana records twenty-nine-year-old, Indiana-born farmer John W. Vandivier, his twenty-six-year-old, Indiana-born wife Learetta Vandivier and their Indiana-born children, seven-year-old Archie E., five-year-old Sarah A., three-year-old Tillis and one-year-old Jessie M. Vandivier.
The Forty-second Annual Volume of The Indianapolis City Directory for 1896, page 871, records Oran T. Vandivier as a student who boards at 583 W Armstrong (North Indianapolis).
The Marion County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920, referencing Book H-7, page 15, records that Silas [sic] Vandiver, an 18 year old white male, died 28 Feb 1897 in Indianapolis.
