Jas. Vandergriff [sic], aged about twenty-eight years was found dead in bed last Saturday morning at the home of his father. He was subject to fits. The funeral services were held at the residence Sunday afternoon and the remains were interred in Greenlawn.

The undersigned coroner of Johnson county, Indiana, did on the 27th day of October 1891, hold an inquest on the body of James M. Vandegriff, late of said county, who was found dead in bed at the home of his father, David Vandegriff, on October 24, 1891, and having viewed the body and heard the testimony of witnesses, find that the deceased came to his death by reason of epilepsy.
The deceased was twenty eight years old, five feet eight and one-half inches high, weight one hundred and forty-five pounds, with brown hair and eyes.
