==============================
To pay a tribute of respect to our loved and lost is always a painful pleasure, yet as God in His wisdom has called one more of our dear ones home, I would now speak a few words sacred to the memory of Della, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Tucker, of Greenwood, who died at the age of twenty-three years, seven months and one day, after a lingering illness of one year of consumption, at her home near Greenwood, March 22, 1899. Della was ever a kind-hearted, pleasant lady and her winning words and pleasant face will long be remembered by her Sunday school class. Her mission during the short life she lived among us was to scatter deeds of kindness and words of cheer. Early in life she gave her heart to Christ and united with the M. E. church at the Glade. Though of short duration her life bears the marks of a true Christian, and although it was her lot to suffer yet she bore all without complaining. Funeral services were conducted Friday at the M. E. church at Greenwood by Rev. P. K. Willis. Burial at Greenwood cemetery.
Dearest teacher, thou hast left us,
And thy loss we deeply feel,
But ’tis God that has bereft us
He can all our sorrows heal.
One of Her S.S. Scholars.
