The death of A. J. Tucker occurred in this city last Saturday afternoon. Deceased was a victim of consumption and had been confined to his home the past four months. He was born in Jefferson county, Kentucky, in 1826, moving to this city in 1854, where he has since resided. For years he had been a faithful member of the Christian church and was highly respected throughout the community, having served as a member of the council at different times. By trade he was a cooper, and the pall bearers were men who are engaged in that business. The funeral services were conducted by Elder T. M. Wiles on Monday afternoon, interment taking place at Greenlawn cemetery. A wife and six children are left to mourn his death.

Among those who attended the funeral of the late A. J. Tucker, were Frank Tucker and family, of Crawfordsville, and George Tucker of Indianapolis. They returned to their respective homes Tuesday.
