Mrs. Jane Totten, age eighty years, died Tuesday at her home in Bargersville after a long illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. J. H. Bright.

The 1880 US Federal Census for Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana records sixty-five-year-old, New Jersey-born farmer Freeman Totten, his sixty-one-year-old, New Jersey-born wife Jane Totten, and their children, thirty-year-old carpenter Calvin P., twenty-eight-year-old farmer John W., twenty-five-year-old Phebe C., twenty-three-year-old Angeline A., and fifteen-year-old Hettie J. Totten. Calvin, John and Phebe were born in New Jersey, whereas Angeline and Hettie were born in Indiana.
Indiana Marriages, 1780—1992, database on-line, records that when forty-year-old Phoebe C. Toten [sic] Rivers married forty-year-old Jesse Collins on 30 May 1894 in Marion County, Indiana, she stated that her parents were Fremon Toten [sic] and Jane Little. (citing reference 281, FHL microfilm 413540.)
Indiana Marriages, 1780–1992, database on-line, records that when fifty-four-year old Phoebe [sic] Collins married forty-seven-year-old James Cash 22 Oct 1917 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, she stated that her parents were Freman Totton [sic] and Jane Little.
