John Totton’s [sic] wife died last Thursday night. She leaves a husband and four little children, one an infant ten days old.

Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Certificate and Record of Death, Union Township, Johnson County, Health Officer’s Record Number 6, page 244 records that Catharine Totten died at about 9 o’clock p.m. on 22 Mar 1900 in Union Township from thrombosis caused by diabetes myelitis of six months’ duration, aged forty-one years, eleven months and seven days. She was female, white, married and a housewife, born in Johnson County, Indiana. Her father’s name was Wm. J. Vanblaricum and her mother’s maiden name Sarah Rench, both born in Indiana. The informant was Ed Smith. She was buried in Bargersville on 24 Mar 1900, Covert & Covert, undertaker.
