OBITUARY.
It is always a sad duty to write about the death of a mother, still the sadness can be sunshined away when it is a Christian mother. The subject of this article was such an one.
Miss Mary A. Brewer was born March 26, 1848. She was married August 19, 1868, to our present county commissioner, O. W. Tingle, of this place. To this union were born four children, three of whom in infancy went to glory; one a little daughter, aged about seven years survives. Mrs. Tingle died, December 5, 1893, in her pleasant home just east of town. Aunt Rena, as she was familiarly known, was a real home-busy-everyday mother, one of those that always had a kind word, a smile and a warm heart for all humanity. No better housewife ever adorned a home and many a hungry soul was fed at her bountiful table and in a large circle of relatives and friends her home was a haven of real joy. Of course in all these years of happiness, sorrow, ups and downs, the common lot of all, the deceased mother was ably aided by her husband; and as the home is sad and lonesome, still there is a something that comes to the mourning hearts, that all is well, and in resurrection morn, Aunt Rena will shine with the redeemed. Until that day we say goodbye and peace to your ashes.
