James Thompson, of Edinburg, whom we noticed last week as being seriously ill, died at his home in that place last Friday about noon. His death is attributed to excessive cigarette smoking, which brought on ulceration of the membranes of the mouth and throat. He was a bright and promising young man and was just recently married to a daughter of Adam Mutz of the same place. Deceased was a member of the K. of P. and a good [number] of the boys from this city attended the funeral on Sunday.
