==============================
Willis Thomas, colored, who was injured on the railroad at Needham, Tuesday died that night at 10:30 o’clock. It is supposed he was beating his way over the road. He had jumped on a car here at noon Tuesday and was aiming to get to Fairland. He fell under the wheels and was horribly mangled. A few months ago he raised two poor orders issued to him by trustee McCollough for which the grand jury returned a bill against him. Funeral services were held yesterday.
The Johnson County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920, page 204, referencing Book H-18, page 14, records that Willis Thomas, a twenty-three-year-old colored male, died 7 Feb 1899.
