Frank Thomas Sr. BargersvilleFrank Sidney Thomas Sr., 80, died Monday morning in Johnson County Me- morial Hospital in Franklin, where he had been a patient for six days. He had been in failing health for three weeks. Mr. Thomas, Bargersville route one, was a life-long farmer in the Kinder area until he retired a few years ago. He was born on Sept. 7, 1901, to Harry and Mattie (Briggs) Thomas in Smith Valley. On Dec. 27, 1922, he married the former Velma Naoma Fogelsong, who preceded him in death on Feb. 10, 1971. A graduate of Center Grove High School, he was a member of the Bargers- ville Christian Church. He also served on the White River Trustee Advisory Board during the Floyd Doty administration. He was a member of the Johnson County Farm Bureau Co-op and the White River Township Farm Bureau Co- op, and served on the county organiza- tion’s board of directors. Survivors include a son, Frank Sidney Thomas Jr., of Danville, four grandsons and seven great-granddaughters. He was also preceded in death by his parents. The Rev. Roger Gifford will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Vandivier-Tudor Bargersville chapel, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in White River township.
