OBITUARY.
Mrs. R. W. Terhune, wife of Dr. Terhune, of Whiteland, who had been in failing health for several months, died Saturday, Oct. 15.
Mrs. Terhune was born in Hodgenville, Ky., Sept. 27, 1862, and was the daughter of Bryant R. Nall, one of the most prominent citizens of Larne [sic] county, and was married when quite young to John T. Doran, of that place. To this union two children were born. After the death of her husband in 1882 she came with her parents to Louisville, where she was married to R. W. Terhune June 21, 1892. She was a woman of great personal beauty and rare intelligence and possessed many noble qualities of mind and heart. In childhood she identified herself with the M. E. church of her native place and for many years was an active worker in the cause of Christianity. But the gradually increasing severity of her physical afflictions at last interfered with all activity and kept her closely confined to the home. For many months her suffering was almost too great for human endurance.
At the time of her death she was a member of the Presbyterian church at Whiteland. Her remains were taken for burial to Hodgenville, where a sister, the wife of Congressman, D. H. Smith, now lives.
