Death of Mrs. C. B. Tarlton.
After a long illness, Mrs. Tarlton, wife of Capt. C. B. Tarlton, died Monday evening at 9 o’clock at her home on the Greensburg road.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at the residence conducted by Rev. J. A. Knowlton, pastor of the Baptist church of which church Mrs. Tarlton had long been a devoted member. Burial at Greenlawn.
Deceased was born at Georgetown, Ky., August 19, 1824, and came with her parents, M. D. West and wife, to Johnson County in 1830, settling on a farm east of Greenwood.
On Nov. 13, 1849, she was united in marriage to C. B. Tarlton, who survives her. To this union were born seven children, six of whom are living, viz: John H., M. W., Mrs H. G. McCaslin, Jas. A. of Indianapolis, Charles W. and George M. One son, Caleb Jr., died in infancy. Mrs. Tarlton had resided in Franklin since 1870.

Good many here and near Salem were sorry to hear of the death of Mrs. Caleb B. Tarlton, mother of M. W. Tarlton, at their old home farm. A good mother gone home to glory. Wm. Tarlton, Sr., and wife and Dault Wilson attended the funeral Wednesday at Franklin.
