Death of Wm. D. Swift.
William D. Swift, after a battle for life extending over two years, died Sunday night at 8:30 o’clock at his home near Needham Station. During that time he had suffered from lingering consumption, and was unable to perform any manual labor, his strength all the time gradually passing away. Deceased was a son of David Swift, the well-known superintendent of the poor farm. He was twenty-eight years old. In 1892 he was married to Elsie Gross, daughter of D. S. Gross, and leaves no surviving child. He was a member of the Christian church in this city.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10:30 o’clock a.m. at Second Mt. Pleasant church, conducted by Rev. P. O. Duncan. Burial at the same place.
