A very sad accident happened last Saturday morning at Peter D. Sutton’s. Mr. Sutton was making a farm gate which was very heavy, and after com­pleting it he set it up against the post and went down to the field to see about some hinges. During his short absence his youngest child, a little girl about 8 years old, came out to where the gate was and climbed upon it. It fell with her killing her instantly, and when the father returned he found the child dead under the gate. Funeral Monday at Mt Pleasant conducted by Rev. John C. Miller.
