STONE’S CROSSING.
Eva [sic], wife of Henry J. Surface, died Friday evening at 3 o’clock and was buried Sunday at Greenwood. She had been sick for some time and was thought to be improving, but the Death Angel came and called her to that home where sufferings may never enter.
Her sufferings ended with the day,
Yet lived she near the close
And breathed the long, long night away,
In statue like repose.
But when the sun in all its state
Illumined the eastern skies,
She passed through Glory’s morning gate,
And walked in Paradise.
