Death of Sarah F. Sturgeon.
Mrs. Sarah F. Sturgeon died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. N. A. Tayman, Trafalgar.
Mrs. Sturgeon was perhaps the oldest woman in Johnson county. Her maiden name was Sarah F. Goolsby. She was born March 25, 1799, in Albemarle county, Old Virginia, and moved with her parents to Jefferson county, Kentucky in 1804 at the age of six years. She was married to Simpson Sturgeon April 24, 1822. To this union were born twelve children of whom nine are yet living. She united with Long River Baptist church in Kentucky in 1828 and moved from Jefferson county to Johnson county, Indiana in 1833 where she continued to reside until her death.
The funeral services occurred Tuesday, burial at First Mt. Pleasant.
