Mrs. Jurd [sic Jordan] Stevens died at her home in Trafalgar on the 7th inst. She leaves a little son and loving husband and many friends to mourn her loss.

The 1880 US Federal Census for Trafalgar, Hensley Township, Johnson County, Indiana records twenty-six-year-old, Indiana-born shoemaker Jordan Stephens [sic], his twenty-eight-year-old, Indiana-born wife Rachel and their three-year-old, Indiana-born son George E.
Indiana Marriages, 1780–1992, database records, that when forty-one-year-old Geo. Edward Stevens married Sadie Belle Shaw on 5 Apr 1919 in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, he stated that he was born in Trafalgar, Johnson County, Indiana, and that his parents were Jordan Stevens and Rachel Helms.
